In this teaching, the timeless value of adab—refined manners and noble conduct—is presented as something that flourishes most fully within the protective embrace of a tariqah. Within a Sufi order, the seeker learns literature, etiquette, and every beautiful virtue under the guidance of a disciplined community. When one attempts to acquire these qualities outside the path, the ego (nafs) often holds sway, causing such efforts to unravel like a burst balloon. The tariqah offers a sanctuary where the heart is steadied, allowing adab to take root and endure.
