He explains that God created us not for fleeting enjoyment but for the timeless, incorruptible state of true servitude. When we seek to be counted among the righteous—by asking, “O Lord, write me among the good people, among those who do good deeds, among the believers who rise for faith”—we align our wishes with the divine path that leads to everlasting peace.
Ayberk Efendi emphasizes the prophetic wisdom that “as you live, so you will die; as you die, so you will be resurrected.” Our desires shape our destiny: if we ask for what leads to the fire, we will receive it; if we ask for what brings light, we will be guided toward it. He urges us to contemplate the consequences of every request before we make it, following the counsel of Şeyh Nazım: consider where each desire will take us and pray only for what brings us closer to truth.
