PALACE KITCHENS & A NEW SULTAN
Topkapı Palace contained one of the most impressive kitchen complexes in the Ottoman world. Specialized staff, storerooms, ovens, and copper vessels helped feed a vast imperial household. Palace cuisine was both daily necessity and ceremonial art. On August 31, 1876, Murad V was deposed and Abdülhamid II ascended the throne, linking this date to a major dynastic transition.
