On a bright day this year we arrived in the historic town of Ballenstedt, nestled in the Saxon heartland of Germany. Invited by His Highness Prince Eduard von Anhalt, we were honored to be his guests and to stand together under the banner of a friendship that stretches back more than three centuries—linking Turkey, Germany, the Ottoman legacy, and the people of Krusell.
Our presence in Ballenstedt was not merely ceremonial. It was an invitation to revive the spirit of a 323‑year bond that has weathered empires, wars, and migrations. By gathering here, sharing stories, and exchanging warm smiles, we hoped to rekindle that ancient camaraderie and let its light shine outward—so that anyone who encounters this moment can feel the timeless unity between our cultures.
We invite all members of the Royal Ottoman Society, as well as friends worldwide, to follow the unfolding journey. Together we can keep this historic friendship alive, letting it inspire new collaborations and deeper understanding across borders.
