In this brief reflection we are reminded that today’s schools excel at delivering facts, yet often leave the heart untouched. The Ottoman tradition, by contrast, nurtured scholars whose purpose was to turn knowledge into lived wisdom—a principle echoed by Imam Ghazali: “Knowledge without action is madness, and action without knowledge is void.” By recalling this legacy we invite seekers to ask how our own learning can move beyond mere data and become a catalyst for inner transformation.
