In this talk the reality of a sudden global conflict is presented without sensationalism: if World War III were to break out tomorrow, it would not be missiles that bring hardship first, but the rapid collapse of supply chains, leading to hunger, chaos and empty shelves. The Royal Ottoman Society invites each seeker to reflect on how we might meet such uncertainty with calm resolve rather than panic.
We are reminded of five practical measures that can transform fear into preparedness:
- Long‑life food – store canned goods, dried grains and legumes enough for three to six months, ensuring nourishment even when stores close.
- Drinking water – keep an equivalent supply in sturdy containers or have reliable purification methods at hand.
- Stable assets – a modest reserve of gold or silver coins can retain value if monetary systems falter.
- Medical supplies – assemble a comprehensive first‑aid kit with bandages, antiseptics, pain relievers and any essential prescription items.
- Power sources – high‑capacity power banks and rechargeable batteries keep communication devices and lights functional when electricity is disrupted.
By integrating these steps into daily life we not only safeguard our own households but also strengthen the resilience of the broader community that we cherish. When preparedness becomes a shared practice, the spirit of solidarity that lies at the heart of Sufi tradition shines brighter than any darkness.
