In this brief yet powerful reflection, we hear an invitation that resonates deeply with our shared heritage: “Biz, Türkiye’yle Kürt’yle, Laz’ıyla Çerkez’iyle, daha nice ırktan milletiyle, tam bin yıldır İslam sancağını taşımış, dünkü Osmanlıların bugünkü torunlarıyız. İlahi bir müjde üzere artık bir daha gitmemek üzere geri döndük. Ey Türk, titre ve özüne dön.” In English, the message affirms that we—Turks, Kurds, Laz, Circassians, and countless other peoples—have carried the banner of Islam for a thousand years and are today the living heirs of the Ottoman legacy. It calls us to awaken, to feel the pulse of our roots, and to turn inward toward the essence of who we truly are.
This reminder is more than a historical note; it is a spiritual summons. By embracing the collective memory of the empire’s values—justice, compassion, devotion—we reaffirm our place on the path of love and service. Let us heed the call to “titre ve özüne dön” (tremble and return to your essence), allowing the ancient wisdom of the Ottomans to guide our modern lives.
If you feel drawn to explore this lineage further, consider joining our community or becoming a member of the Royal Ottoman Society. Together we can keep the flame alive.
