On 29 June 2022 the Royal Ottoman Society traveled through three European nations—France, Switzerland, and Germany—to share the blessings of the sacred ten nights that precede Eid‑i Adha. In each gathering we opened with the familiar greeting as‑salaamu ‘alaykum wa raḥmatullāhi wa barakātuh, raised our hands in gratitude (Alhamdulillahi r‑Rahmani r‑Rahim), and recalled the Qur’anic reminder that “wa al‑fajr wa al‑ʿashr” (the dawn and the night).
The talk emphasized that these ten nights hold a special place for increasing our good deeds. We were encouraged to extend charity (sadaka), send salawāt upon the Prophet, and offer extra prayers—acts that carry greater weight than on ordinary days. The significance of Hajj was also highlighted: while the pilgrimage occurs only once in a lifetime, its spirit invites us to seek continual service to God and the Ummah. By turning our intentions toward generosity and remembrance during this auspicious period, we align ourselves with divine mercy and protection from ill intent.
The gatherings concluded with a collective recitation of Al‑Fatiḥa, sealing the moments with hope that Allah’s blessings continue to guide us. May these reflections inspire all who heard them to deepen their devotion throughout the blessed days ahead.
