In a heartfelt address, Ayberk Efendi called upon every seeker within the Royal Ottoman Society to become aware of an important step on the Sufi path: the formal pledge of allegiance—bay’ah—to Sheikh Muhammed Adil Efendi. Emphasizing that each person who stands at the head of a community bears the responsibility to guide, he reminded us that when a sheikh transitions from this world, the mantle is passed to a designated successor. The lineage, rooted in the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad and carried through the revered companions—Hazreti Ebu Bekir, Ömer, Osman, Ali, and the esteemed Bahutlu Efendi—is presented as an unbroken chain of light that now continues with Sheikh Muhammed Adil Efendi.
Ayberk Efendi underscored that no other spiritual authority is required beyond this noble succession. The community’s duty, he explained, is to honor the tradition by appearing before the camera—or any gathering—to affirm their commitment. This act of bay’ah not only affirms personal devotion but also reinforces the collective strength and unity of our tariqa.
