In this heartfelt hutbe, Şeyh Efendimiz reminded us that we are living in a time marked by oppression and suffering. The hardships endured by believers—bloodshed, tears, and relentless persecution—are not random; they stem from the absence of a unifying head for the ummah. Without a Caliph or Sultan to guide the body of Islam, the community is described as “headless,” stumbling from crisis to crisis while external forces continue their attacks on mosques and Muslims across continents, from Asia to Europe and beyond.
A striking comparison was drawn with Christianity, where a single recognized authority—the Pope—has historically prevented internal conflicts among its followers. The lack of such central leadership in the Muslim world has led to fragmented protests, empty banners, and futile demonstrations that fail to bring lasting change. Şeyh Efendimiz emphasized that true remedy lies not in louder slogans but in reinstating rightful spiritual authority.
Consequently, the central plea of the sermon was simple yet profound: every prayer, supplication, and daily remembrance should include an earnest request for the appearance of the Mahdi, the promised descendant of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). By invoking “Ya Rabb, send us the Mahdi, our Sultan and Caliph,” believers hope that a legitimate leader will restore balance, bring justice to the world, and illuminate the path forward for the ummah. The Sheikh urged the community to turn away from empty demonstrations and unite behind this spiritual aim, trusting that once the “head” is restored, darkness will recede and true peace will blossom.
