On April 26 2025, the Royal Ottoman Society welcomed a heartfelt virtual conversation between Sheikh Bahauddin Adil of Cyprus and His Highness Prince Eduard von Anhalt. The call opened with warm greetings—“Selamun Aleyküm” and “Aleyküm Selam”—and quickly moved to expressions of gratitude for the opportunity to meet across borders. Both gentlemen praised the spirit of unity that brings people together in Ludwigshafen, emphasizing how our shared values are more needed than ever in today’s world.
Throughout the dialogue, Prince Eduard expressed his admiration for the Society’s commitment to preserving Ottoman heritage and Sufi teachings. Sheikh Bahauddin responded with humility, noting that the legacy of the Ottomans has been celebrated by generations of “brothers” for a thousand years, and reaffirming the timeless relevance of those traditions. The conversation turned to future collaborations, with Prince Eduard indicating his desire to visit Germany and deepen personal connections with the community. Both agreed that such encounters reinforce the moral fabric that guides humanity.
We are grateful for this moment of mutual respect and hope it inspires further dialogue among all who cherish spiritual depth and historical continuity.
