In the second installment of the “Şahlanış” series, the Royal Ottoman Society invites seekers to contemplate the profound promise spoken by Muhyiddin Ibn Arabi: “Büyük Müjde” — the Great Gospel. The teaching reminds us that a Selim (peaceful soul) will appear, receive the divine trust, and later another Selim will return it, illustrating the cyclical nature of spiritual stewardship.
This brief yet potent reflection draws attention to the inner illumination known as şahlanış—the moment when the heart is lit with Divine Light. It encourages us to prepare our souls to both receive and transmit this luminous trust, echoing the timeless verse:
“Bir Selim gelir Emaneti alır
Son Selim gelir Emaneti verir”
As we listen to this teaching, we are called to nurture humility, patience, and gratitude, allowing the light within us to shine outward for the benefit of all. May each listener feel the gentle guidance of the Qur’anic wisdom and Ibn Arabi’s insight, stepping more fully into the path of love and service.
