In recent weeks our teachers have reminded the community that challenging times may soon test our preparedness. Sheikh Nazım Hazretleri long ago warned that a day could arrive when “the coming day will be indistinguishable from the passing one,” urging us to keep vigilant. Echoing that counsel, Sheikh Mehmed Efendi – the current spiritual leader and son‑halife of Sheikh Nazım – has issued a clear, practical recommendation: each household should secure at least three months’ worth of food, ideally extending to six months if possible.
The guidance is straightforward. A modest stockpile—enough for two to three months—provides a safety net that protects families without requiring extravagant measures. With God’s grace, this simple preparation can sustain us through unforeseen disruptions while allowing the community to remain focused on prayer, service, and mutual support. Those who are able are encouraged to gather what they need now, ensuring that every member has access to essential provisions.
We thank Sheikh Mehmed Efendi for his timely reminder and invite all members to stay connected through our online platforms, where further updates and communal resources are shared regularly. If you wish to deepen your involvement with the Royal Ottoman Society or explore ways to support fellow seekers, consider becoming a member or joining our community page. May we all remain safe, nourished, and steadfast in faith.
