On the evening of 26 December 2015, we welcomed Ayberk Efendi to Berlin for a special gathering of friends and seekers drawn to the timeless wisdom of the Sufi tradition. Set against the historic backdrop of the city, the event offered an intimate space where participants could listen to Ayberk Efendi’s reflections on spiritual practice, Ottoman heritage, and the relevance of love‑filled devotion in contemporary life.
Ayberk Efendi began by sharing stories from the early days of the Ottoman Sufi orders, illustrating how their emphasis on inner purification remains a guiding light for modern seekers. He then turned to practical guidance: simple heart‑centred prayers, the importance of sincere intention (niyya), and ways to integrate remembrance (dhikr) into daily routines. Throughout the sohbet, listeners felt a gentle reminder that the path is less about grand gestures and more about the quiet, consistent turning of the heart toward the Divine.
The gathering concluded with a communal zikr, allowing everyone present to experience the shared vibration of devotion. Attendees left with a renewed sense of purpose and an invitation to continue their journey within our growing community.
If you feel called to explore these teachings further or wish to join future events, we warmly invite you to become a member of the Royal Ottoman Society. Together we can nurture the flame of Sufi wisdom in today’s world.
