In this teaching we are reminded that every soul has a unique station in the tapestry of creation. The discourse begins with an everyday proverb—“no one is a spare part”—and expands it into a spiritual insight: whatever role seems irreplaceable, God’s wisdom ultimately provides a fitting replacement. This does not diminish the value of any individual; rather, it invites humility and gratitude for the divine order that continually renews itself.
The talk draws our attention to history’s great upheavals. After both World Wars, countless lives were lost, yet from the ruins new cities rose, fresh ideas blossomed, and brighter minds emerged. The destruction was not an end but a clearing in which higher forms of civilization could take root—new buildings, advanced technologies, even artificial intelligence. In this pattern we see God’s assurance that every vacancy is eventually filled, often in ways more beautiful than we could imagine.
Turning to the unique station of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), the teaching emphasizes a Qur’anic affirmation: “If you were not, I would not have created the heavens and the earth.” This declares that the final Messenger occupies an irreplaceable position—both the first and the last. While human roles may be succeeded by others, the prophetic light is singular; no other being can occupy his place because it is God’s own declaration.
From this we derive a profound lesson of humility. Before the Prophet’s appearance humanity lived in a state of ignorance and moral laxity. His presence introduced true etiquette, compassion, and spiritual refinement. Yet even this transformative influence fits within God’s larger plan: the world could not exist without his guidance, yet the divine will also ensures that every creation has its rightful place—whether before, during, or after his earthly mission.
The teaching concludes with an invitation to remember the Prophet through salawat, acknowledging that all our blessings—health, sustenance, breath—are gifts for which we owe gratitude. By sending blessings upon him, we align ourselves with the divine order that fills every vacancy with purpose and beauty.
