In this heartfelt sohbet the timeless truth was reminded that the gloom covering our world is not an accident; it mirrors the gradual disappearance of good‑hearted, faithful Muslims. When the light of believers dims, darkness spreads, and “black clouds” of corruption settle over the earth. The call is clear: each of us carries a sacred duty to rekindle that light by purifying our own hearts, living rightly, and reaching out with sincere da’wah.
The teaching emphasized that we cannot simply pass by an eğri—a crooked or sinful path—as if it does not concern us. Every believer is bound by a spiritual responsibility: claiming “I am good” without embodying goodness falls short. True righteousness manifests whenever we eradicate evil, both within ourselves and in the world around us. As more righteous people arise, the oppressive cloud lifts, the sun reappears, and humanity experiences renewal.
A striking image was presented of the “Day‑of‑Judgment” prophet—one whose community will become the beacon that drives away darkness. When the saints (evliyalar) withdraw from public view, their hidden light causes the surrounding world to feel a deeper loss; the brilliance of their example fades and shadows grow stronger. This is not a sign of weakness but a reminder that the responsibility to shine must be taken up by every ordinary believer who steps forward.
Before we can responsibly invite others to the path (tebliğ), we are urged to first examine our own shortcomings, correct the eğriler within us, and then extend that correction outward. The process resembles pulling one’s own leg up a ladder before helping another climb. The perseverance of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and his companions serves as a model: they endured stone‑throwing, beatings, insults, and even torture yet never abandoned their mission. Their unwavering commitment shows that every sincere effort plants seeds that may later bear fruit, even when we feel exhausted or discouraged.
The core of the teaching is an invitation for each of us to awaken our inner responsibility:
- Purify our hearts through prayer, remembrance (zikir), and honest self‑assessment.
- Engage in sincere da’wah, sharing the beauty of Islam with compassion and patience.
- Support one another within the community so that no believer feels isolated in this mission.
May Allah grant us the strength to fulfill these responsibilities, just as He guided the Prophet, his companions, and the saints before us.
