On January 7th 2017, the Royal Ottoman Society welcomed a historic moment in Ludwigshafen, Germany: the grand opening of our new center. The ceremony was graced by Sheikh Bahauddin Efendi, whose warm greeting—“Selam! Şeyh Bahattin Efendi! Selam!”—set a tone of sincere hospitality and spiritual joy for everyone present.
The gathering brought together longtime members, curious newcomers, and friends from the wider community. After a brief opening address, Sheikh Bahauddin expressed heartfelt gratitude: “İzlediğiniz için teşekkürler,” thanking all who had traveled to witness this milestone. His words reminded us that the Society’s mission is rooted not only in preserving Ottoman heritage but also in fostering a living Sufi tradition that welcomes seekers from every background.
The newly inaugurated space now serves as a hub for weekly sohbet, dhikr sessions, and study circles. It reflects our commitment to creating an environment where the wisdom of the past meets the spiritual aspirations of today’s seekers. As we settle into this beautiful setting, we feel renewed optimism about the pathways of love, service, and inner transformation that lie ahead.
