On the evening of 2 November 2019 the Royal Ottoman Society gathered in the historic heart of Rome for an Ottoman Sufi Night that blended music, poetry, and timeless Sufi wisdom. The gathering welcomed seekers and friends from the local community, creating a warm space where the Ottoman spiritual tradition could be experienced anew.
Sheikh Bahauddin Efendi shared heartfelt reflections that emphasized understanding, compassion, and the unity that lies beyond cultural borders. His words resonated with the audience, reminding us that true insight transcends any single worldview. Alongside him, Ayberk Efendi guided the Ottoman Band, whose gentle strains of the ney, oud, and kanun filled the venue with an atmosphere of reverence and joy. The music acted as a living bridge between past and present, inviting each heart to touch the divine through sound.
Moments of silent contemplation were woven together with collective chanting, illustrating the Ottoman Sufi balance of solemn devotion and exuberant gratitude. The night not only deepened individual connections to the path but also strengthened the sense of belonging within our worldwide community of seekers.
If the spirit of this evening touched you, we invite you to explore membership and join our growing community of fellow travelers on the Sufi path.
