On the evening of 30 August 2023, we gathered at the Sufizentrum in Braunschweig for a moving session of Qasidah, the devotional poetry that lies at the heart of our Sufi practice. The hall resonated with the familiar refrain
“على حبيبك خير الخلق كله … يا ربي صلي عليك” – an intimate plea for Allah’s blessings upon the Beloved, the Prophet (peace be upon him). Each repetition of “upon your Beloved, the best of creation” and the heartfelt “May God’s prayers be upon you” invited participants to align their hearts with divine love, turning a simple chant into a shared experience of remembrance and unity.
In this gathering we felt the living continuity of Ottoman‑rooted spirituality that nurtures our community in Ludwigshafen. The melodic cadence, the Arabic words, and the collective intention transformed an ordinary evening into a sanctified space where seekers could deepen their connection to the Divine while honoring a timeless cultural heritage.
