On the crisp winter evening of January 25, 2015, the Royal Ottoman Society welcomed a distinguished guest to our hall in Ludwigshafen: Sheikh Bahauddin Adil Sultan. The gathering began with Ayberk Efendi’s heartfelt introduction, inviting all present to open their hearts and minds to the blessings that would unfold. As the room settled into reverent silence, a collective chant of “Allah’u” rose in unison, echoing through the space like a living reminder of divine presence.
The rhythmic repetition of this simple dhikr created an atmosphere of shared remembrance, allowing each breath to align with the sacred name. In that moment the community felt a gentle elevation, preparing the heart for Sheikh Bahauddin’s forthcoming words on love, humility, and the living heritage of the Ottoman Sufi path. Though the transcript captures only the chant, those who were present remember how the Sheikh’s presence amplified the sense of unity and spiritual continuity that ties us to centuries‑old traditions.
