On the evening of 24 January 2015 the Royal Ottoman Society gathered in Ludwigshafen for a special sohbet. Ayberk Efendi graciously introduced Sheikh Bahauddin Hazretleri, whose teaching was announced under the concise yet profound title “Çekiçilik Hakkdır.” The recorded portion of the session is dominated by heartfelt dhikr—repeated invocations of Allah’s name and blessings upon the Prophet (saw)—which already creates a living illustration of the very principle being explored.
In Sufi terminology, çekicılık refers to the earnest act of “pulling” or drawing one’s heart toward the Divine. When Sheikh Bahauddin frames this pulling as Hakk—the absolute truth—it reminds us that every sincere effort to seek proximity to Allah becomes an expression of that truth itself. The pull is not a forceful striving against God, but a gentle alignment of intention and will with the divine reality. In this sense, ordinary deeds, prayers, and moments of remembrance become a continuous drawing‑in toward the Source.
The gathering therefore served as both a communal remembrance and a practical demonstration of how devotion transforms into truth when rooted in love.
