On May 7 2017 the Royal Ottoman Society marked a special gathering titled Great Invitation, commemorating the third anniversary of the Urs of a revered saint. In the spirit of Sufi tradition, the occasion brought together seekers and members to reflect on the boundless invitation of divine love that each saint extends to humanity.
The celebration resonated with the timeless message that every Urs is not merely a remembrance of a departed master but a living call to deepen our connection with the Divine. Participants gathered in silence and song, allowing the echo of centuries‑old chants to stir the heart toward humility, gratitude, and renewed devotion. The atmosphere was filled with heartfelt zikr, gentle recitations, and moments of contemplative prayer that reminded all present of the enduring presence of the spiritual lineage we cherish.
Such gatherings serve as a reminder that the path of love is always open, inviting each soul to step forward, regardless of circumstance or background. As we continue to honor our heritage while walking the contemporary world, the Great Invitation reaffirms our collective commitment to embodying compassion, service, and inner transformation.
We welcome all who feel drawn to this invitation to join our growing community, share in future gatherings, and explore the rich tapestry of Ottoman Sufi spirituality.
