In this heartfelt sohbet, Sheikh Bahauddin Adil Efendi reminds us that the great mystic Jalāl ad‑Dīn Rūmī (Mevlâna) is foremost a noble human being whose life continues to guide humanity. He recounts how, as a child, Mevlâna accompanied his father on the pilgrimage to Hajj, walking closely behind him. The eminent Sufi master Muḥyīddīn Ibn‑ʿArabī witnessed this simple scene and likened it to “a tiny lake that leads a vast ocean,” illustrating how modest beginnings can sustain boundless spiritual depth.
From this image the Sheikh draws a timeless lesson: every counsel offered by Mevlâna is rooted in divine wisdom, perfectly placed for its listeners, and remains fully relevant today, tomorrow, and until the Day of Judgment. Because his teachings flow directly from the source of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), they share the enduring vitality of the Qur’an, the Hadith, and the lives of other blessed saints. The path Mevlâna walked therefore continues to illuminate seekers on the contemporary Sufi journey.
