In this heartfelt sohbet, Sheikh Yahya Efendi arrived as the honored guest from Freiburg, joining Ayberk Efendi to share guidance rooted in the Naqshbandi‑Mujaddidi tradition. The gathering resonated with gratitude for the German brothers who travelled to be together, and a shared vision of expanding the bonds of friendship across Europe.
We heard an inspiring call to build “bridges of friendship” that stretch from Vienna through Belgium, Holland, France and beyond. Under the guidance of our Grand Master, the speakers emphasized that such bridges must rest on humility, clear structure, and reverence for the spiritual lineage. Recognizing the boundaries set by the teachers—our Grand Master, his son Sheikh Mohammed Nazim al‑Haqqani, and the devoted sheikhs who follow—provides each heart with firm footing for service and love.
The central metaphor of the evening was the Divine Rope (Allahin Ipine Tutun). In Sufi teaching, clinging to this rope represents unwavering reliance on Allah’s guidance amid life’s turbulence. Sheikh Yahya Efendi reminded us to grasp the rope with sincerity, avoiding idle talk that can distract from true remembrance. Ayberk Efendi added that humility of speech and attentive listening are essential: when the heart is bound by truthfulness, words remain purposeful, and each listener becomes a channel for divine inspiration.
Throughout the sohbet, the emphasis remained on unity under one roof—a spiritual “dome” where every brother and sister is welcomed without distinction. By honoring the lineage, embracing humility, and holding firmly to the Divine Rope, we cultivate an environment in which the community can grow together while remaining rooted in the timeless Sufi path.
