In late May 2016 the Royal Ottoman Society brought a special gathering to the heart of Berlin. Under the guidance of Ayberk Efendi, the community welcomed Şeyh Muhammed Adil Hz., a distinguished master of the Sufi tradition whose teachings resonate deeply with our Ottoman spiritual heritage. Over three days—27th, 28th and 29th May—the sessions offered seekers an opportunity to hear live discourses, participate in dhikr circles, and explore the timeless principles that unite heart‑centred devotion with the rich cultural legacy of the Ottoman Empire.
The program combined scholarly reflections on classical Sufi texts with practical guidance for daily remembrance (zikir) and ethical conduct. Attendees were encouraged to contemplate the inner dimensions of love (mahabbah), humility (tevazu) and service, themes that Şeyh Muhammed Adil Hz. emphasized in his teachings. By situating these insights within a contemporary European context, the event illustrated how the Sufi path can flourish wherever sincere hearts gather.
